Hi, I’m Theodore - an artist, designer, developer and researcher based in York.
My work sits between heritage, technology and people. I’m interested in what happens in that in-between space - how the past is staged, shaped and brought into the present.
Right now I’m exploring new ways of working that bring together theatre-making, user experience design and interactive media to rethink how heritage is felt, encountered and made meaningful today.
I didn’t begin in digital. From 2009 to 2018 I worked with the prints and drawings collection at Leeds Art Gallery. One of the highlights was leading an Esmée Fairbairn Foundation funded project to reimagine the John Sell Cotman Collection and Kitson Archive - cataloguing, digitising and opening it up online. It was an early exploration of how historic works can find new life through digital experience. (cotmania.org)
Today I lead digital at York Museums Trust, where I work with creative technology to shape how collections and stories are experienced - in galleries and beyond.
